The 2010 Seiko 49er.ca Championships will serve, as agreed at the 2009 class meeting, as the 2010 Canadian 49er Championships.
The event will take place as part of the CORK OCR event in Kingston, Ontario from August 21 to 25, 2010.
This should be the largest 49er regatta ever held in Canada and certainly in the top 5 of all 49er events ever held in North America. The organizers are expecting about 30 boats (from 3 or 4 countries) with a healthy mix of new and old rigs. So all are welcome!!
The regatta is sponsored by Seiko, who are graciously providing spinnakers for racing and watches for prizes. 49er.ca has also contributed to prizes (including the new trophy) and bibs. This is Seiko’s 2nd year running in Kingston.
The event will be classified as an ISAF Grade 2 event, and will also count for points on the Canadian 49er Grand Prix, towards the Cushman Wakefield Lepage trophy.
The event will conclude with a Medal Race, which counts for double points in the series. The Medal Race will be filmed.
